My Favorite Bollywood Song

Suraj Hua Maddham from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is my favorite all-time filmi song.

Here are the lyrics from the movie, which has the English subtitles.

MALE (Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul)
Suraj Hua Maddham Chaand Jalne Laga
Aasmaan Yeh Haay Kyon Pighalne Laga
Suraj Hua Maddham Chaand Jalne Laga
Aasmaan Yeh Haay Kyon Pighalne Laga
Main Thehra Raha Zameen Chalne Lagi
Dhadka Yeh Dil Saas Thamne Lagi
Oh Kya Yeh Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai
Sajna Kya Yeh Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai

FEMALE (Kajol as Anjali)
Suraj Hua Maddham Chaand Jalne Laga
Aasmaan Yeh Haay Kyon Pighalne Laga
Suraj Hua Maddham Chaand Jalne Laga
Aasmaan Yeh Haay Kyon Pighalne Laga
Main Thehra Raha Zameen Chalne Lagi
Dhadka Yeh Dil Saas Thamne Lagi
Oh Kya Yeh Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai
Sajna Kya Yeh Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai

MALE
Hai Khoobsurat Yeh Pal Sab Kuch Raha Hai Badal
Sapne Haqeeqat Mein Jo Dhal Rahe Hain
Kya Sadiyon Se Purana Hai Rishta Yeh Hamara
Ke Jis Tarah Tum Se Hum Mil Rahe Hai

FEMALE
Yunhi Rahe Har Dam Pyaar Ka Mausam
Yunhi Milo Hum Se Tum Janam Janam

MALE
Main Thehra Raha Zameen Chalne Lagi
Dhadka Yeh Dil Saas Thamne Lagi

FEMALE
Kya Yeh Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai
Sajna Kya Yeh Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai

FEMALE
Tere Hi Rang Se Yun Mein To Rangi Hoon Sanam
Paake Tujhe Khud Se Hi Kho Rahin Hoon Sanam
Oh Mahiya Main Tere Ishq Mein Haan Doob Ke
Paar Mein Ho Rahi Hoon Sanam

MALE
Sagar Hua Pyaasa Raat Jagne Lagi
Shole Ke Dil Mein Bhi Aag Jalne Lagi

FEMALE
Main Thehra Raha Zameen Chalne Lagi
Dhadka Yeh Dil Saas Thamne Lagi

MALE
Kya Yeh Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai

FEMALE
Sajna

TOGETHER
Kya Yeh Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai

MALE
Suraj Hua Maddham

TOGETHER
Chaand Jalne Laga

MALE
Aasmaan Yeh Haay

FEMALE
Kyon Pighalne Laga

  3. Great song, Simran, thanks for sharing! Since we're talking of favorites, I saw "Naach" recently and fell in love with the one song critics just tore to shreds - Rakth ka hai. The song is unconventional, no doubt, but kudos must to go the writer for having the guts to write a song that is so seductive, urgent and raw - I was morbidly fascinated! :)

  4. great now I have to find the movie, to find out if her family keeps their store ..or if her love takes it over. AT least that's what I got from the clip, now I'm going to go read the review to see if I got it right :)

Their expressions say so much you almost don't need the subtitles, but they did help :)
